your data, your call ✦
Last updated: August 27, 2026. Here's what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
To run GLIFT, we collect the information you give us when you sign up and use the site:
Profile photos, bios, and stories are all optional — a member with no photo and no story is fully welcome here.
We use your information to run the features you signed up for:
We don't use your data to build advertising profiles or track you across other sites.
We keep your data while your account is active. If you stop using GLIFT, we'll hold your information for a reasonable period afterward in case you want to come back — but you can request account deletion at any time by emailing us or using the Report a concern page. Once you ask, we'll delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymous or aggregated information may stay (for example, a message that another member still needs to see), but it won't be linked back to you.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, ever. We don't rent it or trade it either. The only people who see your information are the GLIFT team (for moderation and support) and other members in the ways you choose to share — like your public profile or the chat rooms you join.
You can update or correct your profile information — display name, bio, photo, skills, quiz answers — at any time from your profile page. If something's wrong or you can't change it yourself, email us and we'll help fix it.
Some of what you post is visible to other members — your public profile, group chat messages, and entries you publish. Please be thoughtful about what you share publicly, and don't post personal contact info like your phone number, home address, or school. If something feels unsafe, use the Block or Report tools and we'll look into it.
GLIFT is a youth-led project, and this isn't a lawyer-drafted legal document — it's our honest best effort to be clear about how your information is handled. If you have questions or concerns about your data, reach us at Alisha.glift@gmail.com or through the Report a concern page. For the rules of using GLIFT, see our Terms & Conditions.
